Marin Funeral Home Vice President Elsie Rodriguez told the Associated Press on Friday that it took them several hours to create the scene. She said Rivera had told his relatives that if he died, he wanted his boxing career acknowledged at his funeral.
The funeral home is well-known for having previously created other thematic wakes, including one featuring a deceased man riding his motorcycle.
UNIR1 LATINO thinks this is not morbid, especially for someone who died so young in the throws of life. For the elderly this may not be the best way to present the deceased, however when someone dies so young and virile. Why not be remembered as you were? Why not be remembered as you were in life.
The question is, do you think that the funeral was morbid, or disrespectful to his remains?
